Fiber SAN

With over 30 years of experience Strategic Storage Solutions has seen a number of different storage companies come and go and those that have survived this competitive landscape deliver a solution set that meets the requirements of very demanding user community. Fiber SAN's came about primarily to enable a multiuser environment to share data. The medium/transport protocol that served up the most efficient I/O service levels was fiber. It was originally very expensive compared to the scsi direct attach solutions available at the time but it addressed a challenge in sharing data across a multi-user environment with a single instance of the storage serving the same application.

 

We have looked at a number of storage platforms that can deliver the Fiber SAN benefits and feature set. At the higher end of the 'food chain' Compellent addresses the issues from a platform point of view consequently addressing a much wider range of storage challenges. The other storage solution that addresses the fiber connectivity at a very aggressive price point and a nice set of features is Nexsan.
